Frank Weitendorf

Frank Weitendorf studied architecture at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg. He won two first prizes for Patschan Winking Architekten BDA as a student assistant. Immediately after graduating in 1990, he joined the office of Prof. Bernhard Winkings. Frank Weitendorf is a member of the Hamburg Chamber of Architects, Quality Assured Brick and has been Managing Director of Winking - Froh Architekten since 2017. Since realising the first prize for the Lintas building on Mittelweg, he has planned and built numerous police, office and bank buildings in Giessen, Rostock and Hamburg. In addition to the extension to the Biocentre and the new Loki-Schmidt-Haus building in the Botanical Gardens in Klein-Flottbek, his references include the 15-storey office tower at Esplanade 40 and the new buildings on the former Spiegel Island. His work also focuses on the refurbishment of office tower blocks from the 1960s, such as the Kaiserhof in Altona, the tower block at Esplanade 39 and the two Kallmorgen buildings on Spiegel Island. His major current projects include the Alanbrook Quartier in Paderborn, Magistrale 3 Kieler Straße/corner of Volksparkstraße - residential and hotel and the TU Hamburg-Harburg.
