The 50 metre high landmark in the so-called innovation triangle on the site of the old Bonn abattoir was awarded first prize in mid-October. The combination of glass and brick ties in with the industrial surroundings. In addition to the twelve-storey office tower in timber hybrid construction, the competition also covered the design of the neighbourhood's main footpaths and façade ideas for the planned Westwerk event hall. The jury praised the design as ‘groundbreaking architecture that will characterise the exciting new quarter with its powerful appearance and elegant façade’.
